Sambucus nigra ללחץ דם גבוה וגם לשימושים הנפוצים יותר.Most Israeli have probably heard the name Sambucus as there is an excellent product on the Israeli market called Sambucol for colds and all kinds of viral and bacterial problems. Especially at the beginning of my practice, I have written hundreds of prescriptions containing a combination of the herbs: Tilia [linden], Sambucus and Viola odorata This is an excellent combination for all kinds of infectious diseases [colds, flu, fevers, children diseases [for surely also useful for measles]Tilia [linden flowers] has shown to be an excellent herb to help the immune system. Tilia can be found in any supermarket today [Wisotzky] as teabags and all parents should have this at home. This combination -as well as other herbs- can be used very effectively for children with fever and will in general cause the child to sweat and bring down the temperature without compromising the immune system which happens with paracetamol[acamol] and all synthetic fever suppressants. It is uttermost sad that these herbs can’t be found in hospitals and that children are routinely given paracetamol [acamol] or even worse ibuprofen, which can only prolong their disease. Below is a summary of the use of Sambucus for cardiovascular problems which sound logical but is less known. Tilia is also used for hypertension. If you want to add these herbs to your treatment, then you can do this safely but I would not use this daily but for example 2x per week 2 to 3 cups per day.
From the article:
Conclusions The myocardial alterations in the hypertensive rats which received polyphenolic protection are considerably diminished. The polyphenolic extract from Sambucus nigra has cardio-protective effects and could be used as a nutritional supplement in chronic cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Antioxidant supplementation with Sambucus nigra extract can reduce endothelial dysfunction and improve myocardial perfusion in early hypertension Annals of RSCB Vol. XV, Issue 2 Differences in metabolism products of Sambucas nigra extract could be related to the level of benefit of dietary polyphenols on the risk of cardiovascular disease, but additional studies are needed to investigate this hypothesis.
