In this week’s Tora portion [Re’e] many birds are mentioned in connection with their [non]]kashrut status [Deuteronomium 11:26-16:17]

One of them is the Roller bird

Birds of all kinds! One is the Roller bird which seems to be called in Arabic Alserakrak.[see copy of Onkelos text] Hebrew text Rachama , here translated as magpie

17And the pelican, and the magpie, and the cormorant;

יזוְהַקָּאָ֥ת וְאֶת־הָֽרָחָ֖מָה וְאֶת־הַשָּׁלָֽךְ:
