Maidenhair ………….. I remember this plant as a child as my mother z”l had it always on her balcony in Suriname, and she was found of it for some reason.[I heard the name hundreds of times….] Pliny the Elder [first century] considered this plant to be effective against stones in the urinary bladder [breaking the stones and expelling them]

Use: upper respiratory problems…..cough [expectorant],bronchitis, throat pain, pharyngitis,chronic blocked nose. And as the name suggests: used for various hair conditions [dandruff , bald spots from ringworm[ pitria ]

Add a teaspoon to a cup of boiling water, let stand for 15 minutes.

A special species A.caudatum is used for asthma.
