This book which I bought on the Jerusalem book-fare[“lucky day”] around1980 opened my eyes more than anything I read/studied in medicine and brought me to the medicine I am practising now. It may not contain the ‘latest news’ about nutrition but is probably the best balanced Western book on nutrition ever written.

It is not too technical, plain language and I advise it to everyone even “highly trained nutritionists”.

If the book had been read when it was published by doctors and health authorities medicine would have been different now! In 1978 Dr Ballentine wrote already about the devastating effects of margarine etc

Highly recommended! The hardcover is preferable above the paperback, easier to handle and cheaper!
