This herb is vastly underused. It has a significant antibiotic effect , can be used against many intestinal parasites [even Taenia!], against simple diarrhea , against hoarseness[for which I use it often]. Its use against various forms of leukemia has also been described [but here you need a doctor of course] Also worth trying for BPH [prostate]
Below the description of the use for diabetes.
Agrimonia eupatoria (Rosaceae)
Agrimonia eupatoria (agrimony) has been documented as a traditional
treatment of diabetes.
The effects of dietary administration of agrimony to
STZ-diabetic mice, on in vitro glucose uptake and glucose metabolism, and
on insulin secretion were investigated (Gray & Flatt 1998) and the obtained
results demonstrated the presence of antihyperglycemic, insulin-releasing and
insulin-like activity in Agrimony eupatoria.
In addition, treatment with
agrimony, supplied in the diet, reduced the level of hyperglycemia in STZdiabetic mice and this was associated with reduced polydipsia (SwanstonFlatt et al., 1990)
