THE TEN LEVELS OF TRUST (1) An infant, at the beginning of his existence, trusts in his* mother’s breast, as written: “For You drew me from the womb; You made me trust on my mother’s breasts” (Tehilim 22:10). (Matanas Chelko: i.e. if the baby could speak and one would ask it how it lives, it would respond “from my mother’s breast”, not “from my mother”. In his eyes, the breast feeds and sustains him. This is the outlook of a baby. He cannot grasp more than this.
