Several spices are known to have soothing and calming effects when their aroma is inhaled.

The most available in the kitchen [to smell]are probably cinnamon, saffron, holy basil [tulsi] or maybe our simple basil.

Other essential oils that may help are mentioned below [there are many more]

If you have to buy essential oils, then preferable choose the brands of the company NOW [good quality and reasonably priced[only for external use: smelling]
A well-known, RELIABLE brand sold in Israel is doTERRA, which is alas quite expensive[multi-marketing, a practice I don’t like!]

SOME 80 % of ALL essential oils are synthetic, according to the American Botanical Council
Stay away from these!

Lavender: you can use this from your garden.
