In the last years, a lot of work has been done on longevity,also in laboratory experiments.
Quercetin and FISETIN sets have been widely examined and have been found to remove “aging cells” [senescent cells]and thereby prolonging life
Lately, there has been some doubt about this.
Fisetin is found in vegetables and fruit s and especially in apples and cucumbers [as an example]
This made me think about Rav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman ZT”L who -as I read or heard -had cucumber in his daily diet!!

On weekdays, his entire daily food intake was one cucumber, one boiled potato, and a few spoons of oatmeal. Amazing!
He had trained his body to require very little food and lived a very simple and ascetic lifestyle, focused primarily on his studies of Torah and Jewish law.
Rabbi Shteinman was known for his extreme piety, humility, and modesty, and his life serves as an example of devotion to religious learning and spiritual practice.
