Peppermint tea can help against gas, intestinal colic, gallbladder problems as well as against nausea and is very helpful if there is a lack of stomach acid which is the case in many older people.
Often these people are given acid binders [Proton pump inhibitors like nexium, omepradex etc] by gastroenterologists which only makes the digestions worse[as there is not enough stomach acid to digest the food] and these medicines in themselves can be quite dangerous in many other aspects.[see other articles]
If peppermint causes stomach cramps[instead of relieving these] then Chamomile tea maybe a better choice.
