Kivrat always sounded to me like a quart [revi-it] -in Dutch : kwart כברת
Many years ago i bought a very nice vocabulary:
A comprehensive etymological dictionary of the Hebrew language for readers of English [Carta Jerusalem] by Ernest David Klein, who survived 2 concentration camps and was a Rabbi in  pre-world war 2 Eastern Europe.
I is written that he mastered some 40 spoken and extinct languages !!
Form this book I will copy a small piece and amazingly you may see that the idea of a quart[er] is not very strange.[ see attachment and the parts coloured red and blue]
The question: does any reader have an idea if the distance that the Tora mentions could possible mean that the distance was still a “quarter” [of the total distance] to Efrata ?? [supping that the start point was not Paddan,but somewhere in Canaan]
I would love to hear if this could be, or if this is for sure not possible according to Tora locations at that time [as far as these are known]
Does anyone know an expert in Tora geography?
